Overview

Labtro Biological Safety Cabinet Class II A2 LT-BSC207 draws room air inward through the front opening to create an air barrier that helps protect the operator from aerosols and contaminants generated inside the work zone. The incoming air mixes with internally recirculated air and is passed through the U15 ULPA downflow filter, which supplies clean vertical laminar airflow over the work surface to protect the samples. Approximately 70% of the filtered air is recirculated back through the cabinet, while the remaining 30% is discharged through a separate ULPA exhaust filter to protect the surrounding environment. An EC brushless motor with closed-loop airflow control continuously adjusts fan output to compensate for increasing filter resistance and maintain the specified inflow and downflow velocities. Integrated sensors monitor airflow, filter pressure, sash position, and fan performance, while the touchscreen displays operating conditions and activates audible and visual alarms if parameters move outside safe limits. After operation, the programmable 254 nm UV lamp can be used for work-zone decontamination when the cabinet is not in active use.
